About Bristol, IN - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!
Bristol, Indiana is a town located in Washington Township within Elkhart County. As of 2010, there were approximately 1,600 residents that called this community home. It is one of the oldest towns in the county after being founded in 1835, and it was named after a city called Bristol located in England. To get to the town, you’ll simply take a left off of the 80/90 Indiana Tollroad that runs from Chicago to the Ohio State border, and a short drive will take you to State Road 120 that makes its way through downtown Bristol.
Bristol is home to several great attractions despite being a small town. Visitors and residents alike enjoy checking out the unique performances held at the Bristol Opera House. The Elkhart County Historical Museum is an interesting destination for people looking to learn more about the history of the area. Outdoor recreation is popular at Bonneyville Mill County Park or by taking a canoe trip with Lazy Dayz, and budding wine connoisseurs may enjoy a tasting at the Fruit Hills Winery and Orchard.
Bristol is located within a humid continental climate zone. The summer months are hot and humid, with average high temperatures in July, the hottest month of the year, reaching the mid-80s. While there are plenty of ways to cool off in the community, residents will want to keep their home temperatures cool by investing in an energy-efficient air conditioning unit. These systems can protect against heat-related illnesses and will also improve indoor air quality.
Winter weather in Bristol is dramatically different from the summer conditions. Cold fronts bring freezing conditions and snow, which can be heavy at times. When these frigid conditions combine, both driving and living conditions in the Bristol region can become dangerous. For this reason, residents will need to invest in a furnace or heat pump system to say safe, and it should be thoroughly inspected during the autumn months to ensure it will work properly when needed.
